Ashley Nason’s current work is influenced by the landscape in the Western United States, including Northern Colorado where she currently lives. The works depict the collision of human constructs in nature, the forces that contribute to an ever-changing, fragile environment, and the pursuit to exist sustainably and in harmony with nature. Much of this is reflected through the depiction of quasi-living structures, encampments, and strategies of reinvention or repurposing of materials and/or spaces within the landscape.

Nason received a BA in Psychology and BFA in Painting and Printmaking at West Virginia University, Morgantown, and an MFA in Printmaking at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She has held several teaching positions in her career including Technician and Instructor, Herron School of Art, Indianapolis, Indiana,  Associate Professor, Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, Illinois, and Visiting Professor, Metropolitan State University of Denver, Colorado
